Zeta Potential and the Ability of Blood To Carry Nutrients

Colloids (metals and minerals) are held in suspension via a very slight negative electrical charge on the surface of each particle. Like charges repel each other. This is called zeta potential. Blood is a colloidal solution, and all blood cells have a slight negative charge.

Zeta potential is a measure of the electrical force that exists between atoms, molecules, particles, and cells in a fluid. Zeta potential's strength determines the amount of material (nutrients, wastes) that fluids such as your blood and lymph can carry. Increasing the electrical force in the solution allows the fluid to dissolve and hold more material. In this way, more nutrients can be carried throughout your body and accumulated deposits of waste can be removed.

The Origin of Cancer Cells

There are prime and secondary causes of diseases. For example, the prime cause of the plague is the plague bacillus, but secondary causes of the plague are filth, rats, and the fleas that transfer the plague bacillus from rats to man. By the prime cause of a disease, I mean one that is found in every case of the disease.

Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. Almost anything can cause cancer. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. The prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen (oxidation of sugar) in normal body cells by fermentation of sugar.

Natural Toxins in Sprouted Seeds: Separating Myth from Reality

Natural toxins in food has become a hot and controversial subject recently.

In the last few years, some popular writers have attacked sprouts (particularly alfalfa and legume sprouts) as containing natural toxins. These writers may have heard something about a lathyrogen toxin, saponins, canavanine, and maybe other nasty-sounding toxins, and concluded that the sprouts of legumes are toxic in the raw state and so should not be eaten. These statements are taken out of context.

Essential Sugars

When you cut your hand, how do your skin and other tissue know how to fill in the damaged area and seal itself off again? When you eat, how does your digestive tract know which food components to grab and send into the blood stream and which ones to allow to passes through? How do the filters in your kidneys choose the correct molecules to expel? Unlike machines, living organisms are coded to perform many complex "involuntary" functions. The more complex the organism, the more such functions it must perform to live and thrive.

Science and medicine have long tried to break the biocode by which the cells of the body communicate with one another in order for these complex functions to occur. This mysterious code is truly the language of life. Biochemistry is the chemistry of life. It is the science concerned with the various molecules found in living cells and organisms and with their chemical reactions. The aim of biochemistry is to explain, in molecular terms, the chemical processes of living cells.

The four major classes of biomolecules are proteins, nucleic acids, lipids (fats) and carbohydrates. For many years, scientists focused on proteins as the primary communication molecules. Early in this century, however, a theoretical mathematician at the Weisman Institute calculated the number of molecular configurations possible with protein molecules and the number of known chemical command signals needed to run the body. She concluded that there were not enough protein configurations possible to supply all the messages. Another code was required.

Essential Oils - Fatty Acids

There are good fats and there are bad fats. Artificially produced trans-fatty acids are bad in any amount and saturated fats from animal products should be kept to a minimum. The best fats or oils rather, since they are liquid at room temperature, are those that contain the essential fatty acids so named because without them we die. Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are polyunsaturated and grouped into two families, the omega-6 EFAs and the omega-3 EFAs.

Seemingly minor differences in their molecular structure make the two EFA families act very differently in the body. While the metabolic products of omega-6 acids promote inflammation, blood clotting, and tumor growth, the omega-3 acids act entirely opposite. Although we do need both omega-3s and omega-6s it is becoming increasingly clear that an excess of omega-6 fatty acids can have dire consequences. Many scientists believe that a major reason for the high incidence of heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, premature aging, and some forms of cancer is the profound imbalance between our intake of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. Our ancestors evolved on a diet with a ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 of about 1:1. A massive change in dietary habits over the last few centuries has changed this ratio to something closer to 20:1 and this spells trouble. [1-3]

Body Basics

It all starts with a single cell. The first cell splits into two and the two into four and so we go on. After just forty-seven doublings, you have 10,000 trillion (10,000,000,000,000,000) cells in your body and are ready to spring forth as a human being. And every one of your body cells knows exactly what to do to preserve and nurture you from the moment of conception to your last breath.

Each cell carries a copy of your complete genetic code - the instruction manual of your body. Never in your life will you have to remind a cell to keep an eye on its adenosine triphosphate levels or to find a place for the extra squirt of folic acid that's just unexpectedly turned up.

Most living cells seldom last for more than a month before they "die", while being replaced by a perfect copy of a new one, but there are some notable exceptions. For instance the liver cells can survive for years, although the intracellular components within them may be renewed every few days. Brain cells last as long as you do, but the good news is that the individual components of brain cells are also constantly renewed. It may not feel like it, but at cellular level we are all youngsters.

Biological Enzymes and Nattokinase

Biological enzymes are enzymes which regulate endogenous chemical processes and have been called "the fountain of life" -- because without them, life could not exist. These enzymes speed and regulate all chemical reactions in the body in an orchestration of intelligence and control. Enzymes are made in the body from proteins and are provided by the ingestion of enzyme rich foods. During times of stress, sickness or reduced nutrient intake, the body can fall behind in the demand for the constant upkeep and creation of enzymes. Luckily the body has evolved to derive many of its enzymes from food, which helps to reduce the burden of the high enzyme production needs. Unfortunately, however, the enzyme content of foods has significantly decreased over the years due to processing, soil depletion, refining and preservation techniques of the food industry and a decreased consumption of fermented foods and fresh foods, which are high in enzyme content. Enzymes are an essential component of the diet -- like vitamins, m inerals, phytonutrients, fat, protein, carbohydrates, etc. -- and without them, a deficiency state does occur. This deficiency state has been linked by various researchers, such as Dr. Edward Howell, Dr. M. Wolf, Dr. Francis Pottenger, Dr. Royal Lee, and Dr. Weston Price, to chronic disease, accelerated aging and premature death. Enzymes function by activating vitamins and minerals to forms usable by the body, by assisting in the liberation of nutrients from food, by helping to destroy harmful microbial agents, by signaling and regulating chemical processes (such as detoxification), and by activating other enzymes and hormones (cleaving zymogens [right arrow] enzymes and pro-hormones [right arrow] hormones).

Balancing Body PH

A surprising number and variety of physical problems and diseases can be caused by the problem of foods that are acid-producing after digestion. Today the vast majority of the populace in industrialized nations suffers from problems caused by the stress of acidosis, because both modern lifestyle and diet promote acidification of the body's internal environment.

The current typical Western diet is largely composed of acid-forming foods (proteins, cereals, sugars). Alkaline-producing foods such as vegetables are eaten in much smaller quantities. Stimulants like tobacco, coffee, tea, and alcohol are also extremely acidifying. Stress, and physical activity (either insufficient or excessive amounts) also cause acidification.

Many foods are alkaline-producing by nature, but manufactured processed foods are mostly acid-producing. It is important to consume at least 60% alkaline-producing foods in our diet, in order to maintain health. We need plenty of fresh fruits and particularly vegetables (alkaline-producing) to balance our necessary protein intake (acid-producing). And we need to avoid processed, sugary or simple-carbohydrate foods, not only because they are acid-producing but also because they raise blood sugar level too quickly (high glycemic index), plus they tend to be nutrient-lacking and may be toxic too.
